What we do.

We don’t sell agency hours. We sell outcomes for Amazon-to-DTC consumer brands, and most of those outcomes need work across more than one of the categories below.

A typical engagement starts with strategy and ends up touching development, integrations, and growth. We won’t pretend you can hire us for “just the Shopify build” if the real problem is that your DTC pricing is going to cannibalize your Amazon listings. We’ll tell you what you actually need, and then we’ll do it.

Four categories of work · One team · One set of decisions

Strategy & Consulting

Whole-business thinking before the build starts.

Most Amazon-to-DTC projects fail at the strategy layer, not the development layer. The site gets built, but the wrong site gets built, DTC pricing that breaks Amazon BSR, audience strategy that competes with the marketplace channel that’s still paying the bills, a product mix that doesn’t fit how the brand actually sells.

We work through the strategic questions before we write a line of code.

When to engage us You’re considering a DTC build but haven’t committed. You’ve launched a Shopify store and it isn’t performing. You’re evaluating whether to migrate from one platform to another. You’re being pitched by other agencies and want a second opinion on the brief.
What it looks like A scoped engagement, usually 4–8 weeks, ending with a written strategy and a build roadmap. Often leads into a Shopify development engagement; sometimes ends with us telling you not to build anything yet.

Shopify Development

Stores built right the first time.

Shopify isn’t hard. Shopify done well, for a brand that has to win against marketplace competition, handle subscription economics, and serve real customers at scale, is hard.

We’ve shipped Shopify builds for over a decade, are Shopify Liquid Storefronts certified, and have seen most of the ways these builds go wrong.

When to engage us You need to build a Shopify store and you want it built right the first time. You’re on the wrong platform and need to migrate. Your existing Shopify store was built by someone who didn’t understand your business and you’re paying for it now.
What it looks like Project-based engagements ranging from focused 6–8 week builds to full multi-month replatforms. We scope the work in detail before starting and tell you what the work actually involves, not a fixed-fee black box.

Custom Systems

When off-the-shelf doesn’t fit.

Shopify has the largest app marketplace in ecommerce. For most brands, the marketplace covers about 80% of what they need. The other 20%, the part that’s specific to how your business actually runs, usually doesn’t exist as a plugin.

We’re engineers as well as configurators. When the plugin store ends, we keep building.

When to engage us You’re frustrated by the gap between what Shopify ships and what your business needs. You’ve tried to bridge that gap with apps and the apps either don’t quite work or are now costing more than building it would. You’re evaluating whether something is buildable at all, and most agencies have already told you no.
What it looks like Scoped engineering engagements, usually inside a larger Shopify build or as standalone projects. We can also retain on an ongoing basis to maintain and extend custom systems we’ve built.

Growth

The work that compounds after launch.

A Shopify build is the starting line, not the finish. Real DTC growth happens in the work that compounds month after month, conversion optimization, retention, lifecycle marketing, attribution, the ongoing tuning that turns a launched store into a real channel.

Most agencies hand the keys over at launch and disappear. We don’t.

When to engage us Your Shopify store is live but isn’t growing. You’ve worked with growth agencies whose recommendations didn’t quite fit your Amazon-to-DTC reality. You want a partner that owns the outcome rather than the slide deck.
What it looks like Monthly retainer engagements, scoped to specific outcomes. We don’t sell vague “growth services”, every retainer has a defined set of work and a clear way to evaluate whether it’s working.
— 05 · How we work

Three engagement models. No tiers.

Most clients start with one and move into another. A strategy engagement leads into a build. A build leads into a growth retainer. We don’t bait-and-switch you into something larger than you signed up for, but we also don’t pretend the work ends at launch.

Strategy first

When you’re not yet sure what to build.

Or you want a second opinion before committing to a major project. 4–8 week strategic engagement. Ends with a written roadmap and clear next steps, including, sometimes, “don’t build anything yet.”

Project work

When you know what you need.

Scoped, defined deliverables, fixed timeline. Most Shopify builds, custom systems, and replatforms run this way. Typically 2–6 months.

Ongoing partnership

When the work is continuous.

Growth retainers, ongoing custom systems development, multi-phase builds, embedded support. Monthly engagement, scoped to specific outcomes, reviewable quarterly.

What we don’t do.

  • Projects without a business case to winWe're in the business of making clients more money than they pay us. If we can't see a credible path to that, wrong stage, wrong pricing, wrong economics, we'll say so. Sometimes that means helping you reframe the plan. Sometimes it means walking away. We'd rather lose the engagement than deliver work we don't believe will pay back.
  • Fixed-fee black boxesWe scope work in detail. You see what’s included and what’s not. No surprises in month three.
  • Promises we can’t keepIf we’re not confident we can hit what you’re asking for, we’ll tell you. There are agencies that will tell you what you want to hear; we’re not them.
