Shopify Integration with Amazon
One of the biggest advantages of Shopify for Amazon sellers is the ability to connect your store directly with Amazon. This ensures smooth inventory sync, order fulfillment, and customer experience across both platforms.
How it works with Amazon FBA & MCF
If you already use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), you can activate Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) for your Shopify orders. Here’s the process:
-
A customer places an order on your Shopify store.
-
The order syncs with Amazon automatically.
-
Amazon picks, packs, and ships the product from your FBA inventory.
-
Shipping details update back to your Shopify store and the customer.
Your Shopify store stays the front-end brand experience, while Amazon takes care of logistics.
📌 Note: Amazon MCF currently works in 10 countries: US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Japan. See official list here.
Setting up Amazon MCF in Shopify
-
Open the Shopify App Store and install the official Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment app.
-
Connect it with your Amazon seller account.
-
Map your product SKUs between Amazon and Shopify.
-
Configure your shipping options (Amazon provides a detailed video guide inside the app setup).
With this integration, your Shopify site runs as your main storefront while Amazon handles fulfillment at scale.
Alternatives to FBA & MCF
Amazon isn’t your only option. Many brands choose a third-party logistics provider (3PL) to manage stock, shipping, and returns. This can give you more flexibility and control—especially if you sell in multiple regions or want to diversify beyond Amazon.
However, choosing between FBA, MCF, or a 3PL depends on your unique business case. For this course, we’ll focus on Amazon MCF as the simplest and most common option for Shopify-Amazon integration.
